INTRODUCTION AND AVAILABLE STORIES
Since 1971 their file has been a constantly expanding record of these vast areas. The main focus of the collection is the Indigenous People of the North. The way they live, their land and the wildlife they share it with. Tourism is discovering the Polar Regions and Bryan & Cherry have been documenting this, Russian Icebreakers, Zodiacs and ice, Tourists in hot springs, at the North Pole. It was on one of these icebreaker trips to Antarctica that Cherry got the opportunity to photograph penguins on a blue iceberg. One of these pictures won her the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 1995. They represent the work of other specialists. Paul Drummond, Ann Hawthorne, Steve Pinfield & David Rootes all work in inaccessible areas of the Antarctic & Sub Antarctic Islands. John Hyde specialises in the marine wildlife of South East Alaska. Wendy Else Haas worked on Sealing and Whaling ships as well as taking great landscapes of the north of Norway
